Saturday I took Mason rabbit hunting for the 1st time. I was concerned whether he could handle the idea of killing an animal. To my suprise, he did handled it in true hunter fashion.
We went with one of my friends and had Mason "finish" off a couple of hits that didn't result in immediate death. He seemed to have trouble at first with the hiking portion but as the killing started, he became more involved with seeking out animals and on several occasions was on hand to shoot a rabbit to finish it off even if it was already dead.
Anyway, morbid subject but we had a lot of fun. The eldest wants to go so I may take her out to see if she can handle hunting.
